Τhe 2nd International Fest of Fests Forum, hosted by the Michael Cacoyannis Foundation (June 10-13, 2019), has been a successful step ahead, after last year’s kick-off. Following through with the initial “Statement of Common Understanding”, the 2nd Forum of the Fest of Fests initiative, under the scientific auspices of EKOME.S.A., featured a European focus group on the promotion of film literacy in primary and secondary education and the prominent role of Children and Youth Film Festivals in this context.
Along with the European focus group, the 2nd Fest of Fests Forum also included a round table on the “Production of Films for Children and Educational Perspectives”, based on research conducted by the Thessaloniki International Film Festival; a one-day seminar on a/v literacy in the Greek educational system, co-organized with the Greek Educational Radiotelevision and addressed to primary- and secondary school teachers; two film workshops for teachers and educators, organized by EKOME S.A., based on the film teaching material delivered by the European Programme “Film – A Language Without Borders”; and numerous film screenings for children and youth, curated by Olympia International Film Festival for Children and Young People.
