Submissions for the 2018 Cinekid Festival digital culture programme and the 2018 Cinekid Media Awards are accepted until 15 June 2018. The categories in 2018 are Interactive Installations, Digital Design, Game & App Design, and Hybrid Art. Submissions should be recently completed, and/or in development to be completed in October, projects of excellent artistic quality and befitting the festivals young audience. Cinekid welcomes submissions from international artists, designers, students and collectives.
About Cinekid
The Cinekid Festival is one of the world’s oldest and most respected film, television and digital culture festivals for children and youngsters. The festival yearly welcomes 65.000 visitors, 700 international professionals including partner festivals, producers, broadcasters, distributors, agents, curators and artists, and garners a wide variety of national and international media attention.
Cinekid presents the MediaLab, a 1200 m2 exhibition with interactive artworks and digital projects. Its main focus is contemporary visual culture. Project winners are awarded the coveted Cinekid Media Award and an opportunity to showcase their work in the MediaLab at the Cinekid Festival in Amsterdam. A selection of artists and designers will be invited as keynote speakers at the international Cinekid for Professionals programme.
The 32nd edition of the festival will take place in Amsterdam from 17 till 26 October 2018. The MediaLab is open for schools on 18 and 19 October.
