DIVERCINE takes place annually and has the aim of bringing children in Uruguay closer to a diverse selection of audiovisual works from around the world. Through the screening of high quality films and programmes, and the delivery of workshops and activities aimed at children who want to explore the audiovisual medium, DIVERCINE aims to inspire and empower the children of Uruguay.

DIVERCINE is the oldest children’s international film festival for children in Latin America. It was launched by filmmaker Ricardo Casas in 1992.

This year’s editiion will take place throughout August 2022. 

 Submissions are open from March 2nd and April 15th. Fee-free. 
The festival is open to feature films, short films and TV programmes or web series aimed at 4-12 year olds, produced after January 2020.
